Located one-third of the way from Puerto Rico to Trinidad and Tobago, Saint Kitts and The Nevis are two tropical islands in the Caribbean.
Offering little temperature variation away from tropical skies and warm crystal waters, the islands are somewhat limited by their small area size in terms of attractions however the natural beauty you’ll experience while visiting is enough to charm any traveller.
Saint Kitts has seen historic struggle between European nations for control and as such features an array of colourful cultural sites from expanding sugar plantations to the Brimestone Hill Fortress; both a UNESCO world heritage site and a national park. The fortress offers spectacular views of the surrounding area and on a clear day you’ll even be able to catch a glimpse of the near-by islands. There are also some fantastic dive sites for the active travellers including the wreck of the River Taw.
The smaller of the two islands, Nevis, is separated from Saint Kitts by a 2 mile wide channel and the capital Charlestown is a quaint area boasting Georgian architecture and lots of beautiful beaches to relax on. For travellers interested in history there are a plethora of remains scattered across Nevis, some favourites include Coconut Walk Estate, Hamilton Estate and the Lime Kiln.
